New York, NY (Sports Network) - Major League Soccer announced Tuesday that
Philadelphia Union midfielder Michael Farfan has been added to MLS All-Star
gameday roster by head coach Ben Olsen for Wednesday's clash with English
Premier League club Chelsea.
MLS also announced that it has accepted Chelsea's request to increase the
number of substitutions permitted during the All-Star Game from seven per team
to 10. This rule change facilitated Farfan's addition to the MLS roster.
Farfan, a 2011 Rookie of the Year finalist, has featured in 17 games for the
Union this term, starting 16 games while producing one goal and four assists.
