Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - FC Dallas saw its winless streak reach a
franchise-record 11 games on Saturday as the Hoops were held to a 0-0 draw by
Chivas USA at FC Dallas Stadium.
Chivas only managed to put one shot on goal in the course of 90 minutes while
the hosts did just marginally better, forcing Chivas goalkeeper Dan Kennedy to
make three saves.
Dallas had the only real chance in the first half and it came from a Jackson
shot almost 45 yards out. Kennedy got caught a bit too far off his line and
Jackson decided to have a go at the net, with Kennedy needing to make a diving
save to push the shot around the post.
The second half didn't see much of an increase in scoring chances either, as
Brek Shea had the best opportunity to break the deadlock in the 65th minute
with a volley that Kennedy parried into the path of Jackson, who fired over
the net on the rebound.
Chivas has earned three draws in its last five games while Dallas will attempt
to snap its lengthy winless skid at home against Toronto FC on July 4.
