Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak
announced Saturday that center Eugene Amano will miss the 2012 season due to a
torn right triceps.
Amano, the starting center for the past two seasons, suffered the injury
during Thursday night's practice. Results from an MRI exam on Saturday showed
the severity of the injury.
Fernando Velasco and Kevin Matthews will compete to replace Amano, who has
played in 124 career games (68 starts) with the Titans.
Tennessee also signed center Chris Morris. He has played in 51 career games
(11 starts) with the Raiders and Panthers.
