Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed safety Mark
Barron, the seventh-overall pick of the draft, to a five-year contract Friday.
Financial terms of the deal were not released, but it is reported to be worth
$14.5 million.
Last season, Barron collected 68 tackles, two interceptions and a sack as a
part of the University of Alabama's No. 1 nationally ranked defense, helping
the Crimson Tide capture the National Championship.
Barron amassed 237 tackles, 12 interceptions and five sacks over 53 career
games.
