St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers have reinstated
pitcher Chad Billingsley from the 15-day disabled list and named him the
starter for Monday's matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Billingsley last pitched on July 7 at Arizona when he struck out five to reach
the 1,000 career strikeout milestone before right elbow inflammation forced
him to the DL.
The 27-year-old righty has pitched to a 4-9 record with a 4.30 earned run
average over 18 starts for the Dodgers this season.
To make room for Billingsley, the club optioned pitcher Josh Wall to Triple-A
Albuquerque. Wall, 25, made his major league debut on Sunday and picked up the
win with a scoreless inning of relief against the Mets.
