Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers placed Opening Day starter
Colby Lewis on the 15-day disabled list on Monday with right forearm
tendinitis.
The move is retroactive to July 19.
Lewis was on the disabled list from June 24-July 17 with the same injury. He
made one start since being activated and got a no-decision in a 4-3 loss to
Oakland on July 18. He has posted a 6-6 record with a 3.43 earned-run average
in 16 starts this season.
To take his spot on the active roster, the Rangers recalled pitcher Martin
Perez from Triple-A Round Rock. He made his major league debut during Lewis'
first DL stint and went 1-1 with a 5.54 ERA before being sent back to the farm
club.
