Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie was
forced to leave Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees with a leg
injury.
Lawrie suffered the injury in the third inning after he made a diving effort
over a railing while trying to track down a Mark Teixeira foul ball on the
third base side.
As he was flipping over the railing of a camera well, Lawrie's right leg
connected with a lower railing as he was falling to the ground and he had to
be helped off the field.
Yunel Escobar replaced him in the lineup and played shortstop while Omar
Vizquel switched from short to third base.
