Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - James Loney scored the deciding run on a
wild pitch in the eighth inning to lift the Los Angeles Dodgers over the
Chicago White Sox, 7-6, in the opener of a three-game interleague series.
Elian Herrera had two hits, three RBI and a run scored for the Dodgers, who
won for the fourth time in six games.
Ronald Belisario (2-0) earned the win despite allowing the tying run to score
in the top of the eighth before Kenley Jansen tossed a perfect ninth for his
11th save of the year.
Matt Thornton (2-4) allowed the deciding run to cross the plate for Chicago,
which dropped its third straight.
Alex Rios homered twice while Adam Dunn also went deep in a losing effort.
