ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- David Price and Fernando Rodney will represent the Rays at the All-Star Game in Kansas City. The Rays have now had two pitchers on the AL All-Star staff for the last 3 consecutive years.
Rodney becomes the 12th different Rays player to make the All-Star Team since 2008, and the 20th different Ray to make an All-Star Team. Rodney is the oldest first-time All-Star in Rays history.
David Price makes his third straight All-Star Team, only the second Ray ever to be so honored in three straight years joining Evan Longoria (2008-09-10). Price is one of only three pitchers to make the AL All-Star Team in each of the past three seasons joining Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia and Detroit's Justin Verlander.
