Warwick, RI -- A leisurely drive dramatically changes in an instant.
A tree falls on Luis Chacon's car, stopping the vehicle in its tracks.
The West Warwick man never saw it coming.
"Just driving by, taking a ride and [then] tree down. Huge noise and car completely stopped," he recalls.
A large tree had snapped in two at the corner of Fairfax and Essex in Warwick.
At first, Chacon thought only a small branch had struck his car.
"Everybody coming out [and asking me], 'Are you OK? You OK?' 'Yeah, I'm fine, I'm fine.' When I got out, I saw the huge tree on top of my car."
Someone helped pull Chacon out of his car, which he thinks is now totaled. But here he is standing without a scratch on him, after driving right into potential disaster.
