Alaska - A man is back home, recovering from a bear attack in Alaska. Ben Radakovich says he was hiking on a trail near Anchorage Sunday morning when the attack happened.
Here's the 9-1-1 call he made that day to get help.
Operator: "9-1-1 what's the address of your emergency?"
"I was mauled by a brown bear on the Penguin Creek Trail."
Operator: "What trail?"
"Penguin Creek Trail. I was mauled by a brown bear."
Operator: "Okay, do you need an ambulance?"
"Yes."
Operator: "Okay."
"I'm bleeding bad."
Operator: "Okay, where are you bleeding from?"
"My back, my neck and my lower back. Please get an ambulance."
Operator: "We're going to get an ambulance headed that way. How far are you from the trail head?"
"Maybe three miles, off the Bird Creek trail, take a right on the Penguin Creek Trail."
Operator: "Bird Creek Trail and then take a right on Penguin Creek Trail, okay."
"Yes. Should I stay here or should I try to hike back to the trail?"
Operator: "Are you able to? If you're able to keep on going down but if you're hurt just stop and stay there."
"I'm hurt but I'm going to try."
Radakovich says he climbed 30 feet up a tree after the attack and called 9-1-1 on his cell phone.
