St. Petersburg, FL -- Starting October 1st, the pink ribbon bagel is back at the 24 Bay area Panera Bread bakery-cafes. All of the proceeds from the purchase of pink ribbon bagels will be donated to Moffitt Cancer Center. This is the tenth year the bakery has offered the ribbon-shaped bagel featuring cherry chips, dried cherries, cranberries, vanilla, honey and brown sugar.
One of Panera's first franchisees, Sue Stees, is a breast cancer survivor. She developed the idea in 2001.
On October 1st, you'll see the Panera staff decked out in pink, and some locations will have representatives from Moffitt giving out breast cancer information. Also, the USF Sun Dolls will show their support at the Tampa Panera at 11878 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.
