Clearwater, Florida -- A man is suffering from life threatening injuries after he was reportedly shot during a robbery attempt near a Clearwater bar.

Clearwater Police say Scott McGrover stumbled into the Idle Spur Saloon in the area of the 1300 block of Cleveland Street suffering from a gunshot wound around 11:47 Sunday night.

The bartender told police just before McGrover lost consciousness he told them he was shot during a robbery attempt.

McGrover, 41, was flown to Bayfront Medical Center.
