Gainesville, FL-- According to a report in the Gainesville Sun, Gators defensive coordinator Dan Quinn turned down a similar offer from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The story said Quinn interviewed with new Bucs' head coach Greg Schiano.  The Bucs have yet to hire any assistants as part of Schiano's new staff.

Quinn is entering his second season as the Gators' defensive coordinator under Will Muschamp.  He has 10 years of NFL experience, coaching the defensive line.

The Gators return 10 of 11 starters on defense this season.

Quinn is currently earning more than $500,000 from the University of Florida.
