Cooler and drier air is blowing in on gusty NW winds today. Temperatures vary quite a bit to get started this morning. They are much warmer in the mid to upper 60s near the coast versus the low to md 50s for areas from eastern Hillsborough county and points east. We all warm to the mid 70s this afternoon.
After some much needed rain this weekend, high pressure is building in bringing a fresh airmass. It will arrive on gusty NW winds blow 15-20 mph with higher gusts throughout the afternoon. Skies will be mostly sunny so don't forget the sunglasses.
The weather is relatively quiet, but there are a Lake Wind Advisory for winds 20-25 mph and there is a High Surf Advisory for the coast. Watch for rip currents and higher than normal tides.
Much of this week will be quiet with the coolest air in place on Tuesday, followed by a gradual warming trend to the mid 80s by Thursday and into the weekend.
Today: Mostly sunny, breezy and dry. Winds WNW 15-20 mph with highs in the mid 70s.
Tonight: Mainly clear skies with winds NW 10-15 mph. Lows will be cool with mid 50s in the Tampa area, cooler upper 40s in Hernando and Citrus counties.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny and cool. Winds decrease to NW 10-15 mph with low humidity. Highs will top out in the low to mid 70s.
