JELLICO, Tenn. (AP) - As a winter storm has dumped several inches of snow on parts of the South, about a dozen vehicles have been involved in an interstate pileup in northern Tennessee.
A Campbell County dispatcher said 10 to 15 vehicles, including several tractor-trailers and a Greyhound bus, were involved in a wreck Sunday afternoon on Interstate 75 near the Kentucky border. Emergency crews had checked out about 50 people as of Sunday afternoon, sending seven to hospitals. No one on the bus was hurt.
The weather service was predicting two to eight inches of snow to fall on parts of Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. The snow was producing slick travel conditions, especially in high-elevation areas. The system was expected to move off the Mid-Atlantic coast on Sunday night.
