Every year, retailers seem to pull out all the stops on "Black Friday"--the day after Thanksgiving--in an effort to get customers into their stores and kick off the holiday shopping season.
"Black Friday" sales can sometimes cause a run on stores--with specials that seem too good to miss. But those sales are usually a closely-kept secret, at least until circular ads appear in newspapers on Thanksgiving Day.
