SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. - This is the first weekend since hurricane season started and we wanted to know if some people are spending it getting prepared.
At the Home Depot along 22nd Ave. North, we found a number of people who said they already have most, if not all of their hurricane supplies. The shoppers we spoke with said they're not more worried this season, compared to any other season.
Over at the Science Center of Pinellas, dozens of people showed up there for a Hurricane Expo. People listened to seminars and got information from experts, including 10 News Meteorologist Bobby Deskins.
Officials with the Pinellas County Planning Department say complacency is a problem and expos like this help people to be prepared. They add that it's never too early to start.
