I look forward to seeing you when it's dark and early on The Morning Show! That's what you say when you work these hours because it's anything but bright when your alarm goes off before the crack of dawn. It's an odd schedule, but I look forward to starting the day with you.
After spending most of my life buried in snow near Buffalo, NY, it's pretty unbelievable to live in an area where I can go to the beach in the middle of winter. Maybe this is why I keep moving south!
After graduating from St. Bonaventure University, I moved to Beckley, West Virginia as a Reporter/Weather Anchor for WOAY. After a short time, I moved across the state to Charleston where I covered the Sago Mine Disaster. Watching families go through those highs and lows was difficult, but I learned a lot about the strength of people. There were tortuous days for that community , but its members were there for each other through every moment.
Knoxville, Tennessee was the next stop on my trip down south. Over 5 years at WVLT I learned a lot about the hearts of Tennesseans. It was amazing to see neighbors help one another when sludge from a coal ash spill devastated communities just before Christmas. They brought supplies to get families get back on their feet and gifts to help it feel like a holiday. It was also remarkable to witness an entire region rise up for justice when two teenagers were brutally murdered. I also learned, when SEC football is on, nothing else exists! It's also true what they say about Southern gentlemen. That's where I met my husband, Justin.
Now that I'm in Tampa Bay, I'm excited to learn more about you. I look forward to hearing and reading your stories and getting a chance to share them. So, please get a hold of me anytime.
And if you see me on the beach, in the "dead" of winter, come say "Hello!"
